A route is a group of waypoints ordered in a predetermined fashion. A route is a navigation method that allows you to plan your course from one place to another passing by several waypoints. Use a route when you cannot get from one place to another directly (in a straight line).
Land/Air allows you to create routes on your computer and then load them onto your GPS. You can also download routes from your GPS to you computer and then make all the changes you wish to them.
The routes created using Land/Air are stored in a routes file (*..RTE format), where all the waypoints that make up the route are stored in the order you established. Land/Air can also open routes stored in Garmin map source *.TXT format.
